“God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that at all times, in every way, you will have all that you need for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
We define a catastrophe as a major destructive event that results in total dependance. An example would be someone in the congregation falling and becoming paralyzed.
When the church has previously taken on the task of providing for the pressing needs of its widowed and single parents, it learns to walk toward liability instead of away from it, trusting the Lord to provide the resources to meet the need in accordance with 2 Corinthians 9:8. As a result, it is prepared to meet catastrophic needs as well.
