Frequently Asked Questions

Why men?

New Commandment Men’s Ministries is first and foremost a ministry to men and then a ministry through men. Most churches have weak men’s ministries, if they have a men’s ministry at all. We have found that this ministry draws men from the periphery of the church into significant relationships and service.

Team ministry is particularly well suited for men. Men are task-oriented and relate well with each other while doing things together. It also seems more appropriate to have just men in teams, since they will be spending a lot of time together over the months and years. Men work best with widows and single moms who have their own homes and cars—something they can work on.

How much will it cost to start this ministry?

$79.95. That’s all it costs to begin a men’s team ministry that will last for years in your church .

Is this a franchise ministry?

No. New Commandment Men’s Ministries is not a franchise ministry. There are no membership requirements or annual dues. Nor are churches required to use our material. We are simply providing a model for churches to use any way they wish. Churches can modify it according to their own needs and they can call their ministry anything they want. We keep a list of churches with men’s team ministries as a way of demonstrating the validity of the ministry model and as an encouragement for other churches to begin their own men’s team ministry.

Won’t this ministry strain a church that is already strapped for workers?

No. It will do just the opposite. You will see a renewed energy and zeal for all types of work in the church. This ministry is incredibly refreshing and infuses a church with love and joy. As a result, the men want to do more for the Lord, not less. The women who are being ministered to often respond by asking, “What can I do in the church?”

What about people in need outside the church?

Scripture tells us to emphasize needy people within the church first, followed by those outside the church. “Let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” But having focused first on those in your church, you will find that over time there will be many opportunities to take men’s team ministry to people in your community.

What if our church is small and doesn’t have many men?

New Commandment Men’s Ministries provides alternate models in its workbook that will fit any size church, large or small.

What’s the best way to get started?

Most churches start by ordering a 30 Day Preview of our Sample Pak training material, reviewing it for a month, and then deciding if they want to begin. You can check out the details here
